Meet: District 11/12C
Date: 2011-05-14BOZEMAN — The Twin Bridges boys’ track team came away as the winners of the District 11/12-C boys’ team trophy in Bozeman on Saturday.
The Falcons scored 155 points to edge Ennis, which had 120.5.
Shields Valley brought home third with 95 points.
Tyler DiGiovanna won both the 100 and 200 for the Falcons.
The team also had golds by Michael Pfertsch in the 400, Cody Pierson in high jump, Matt Tilstra in the 1,600 and Ethan Stephens in the 300 hurdles.
Twin Bridges swept both relay runs.
Ennis had multiple golds in its second-place effort.
Jake Yochim tossed the shot put 46 feet for a win. Dylan Ryan pushed the discus to 129 feet.
Connor Sullivan was the top long-jumper. Chase Ott cleared 11 feet, 7 inches in pole vault.
The Shields Valley Rebel girls’ team won the team trophy with 117 points. They were able to clip Harrison’s 79-point effort for the win.
Twin Bridges earned third with 67 points and Lima was fourth at 56.
Shields Valley had golds in both relays, as well as Mariah Hogenson in the 100 and Callie Schwartz in the 300 hurdles.
Harrison and Lima both had triple-gold winners.
Ona Congdom raced to victory in the 200, 400 and 800 in Bozeman.
Harrison’s Taylor Statton was declared champion in high jump, long jump and javelin.
Her throw of 133 feet in javelin was her best this season. She has the top mark in Class C in the event.
Harrison long-distance runner Shannon Young claimed both the 1,600 and 3,200 runs. She won the two-mile by over a minute.
The Wildcats also had a gold by Mykah Cooper in shot put. (Montana Standard, May 15, 2011)
