Meet: Sanders County Meet
Date: 2011-05-05PLAINS - Preston Schubert swept the boys' hurdles and Hope Reid did the same on the girls' side, helping Thompson Falls sweep the team titles at the Sanders County Invitational track and field meet Thursday.
Reid won four events overall, including the 200-meter dash and the high jump, as the Bluehawks piled up 185.5 points. The host Trotters were second at 165.
Plains' Taylor Firestone also won four events, though his Horsemen were third in the boys' team race with 112 points. Thompson Falls was first with 172, and Noxon followed with 127.
Firestone had the meet's lone record, going 43 feet, 6 inches to win the triple jump. The senior, who has leaped 46-3.75 this season, broke Brad Pluff's 29-year-old record.
Noxon's Adam Moore won the 400 and discus to help the Red Devils finish second; teammate Derek Jensen threw 46-7.5 to win the shot put.
Plains had another multiple winner in Carter Montgomery, in the 800 and 1,600.
Reid's time of 16.40 in the high hurdles was slower than her season-best of 15.44; she also clocked 27.61 in the 200 and cleared 4-10 to win the high jump.
