Meet: Missoula Big Sky Meet
Date: 2011-04-29MISSOULA - Missoula Big Sky's Darby Maier uncorked a couple of good throws at an unscored seven-team track meet Friday afternoon at Missoula County Stadium.
Maier threw 50 feet, 2.5 inches in the shot put, a mark that puts him among the top 10 in the state this season. His throw of 148-11 in the discus also ranks among the state leaders this spring.
Teammate Elle Tinkle won the 300 hurdles in her first crack at that race this season. Her time of 47.18 seconds is the sixth best in the state and qualified her for state in that event.
Loyola Sacred Heart's Kiernan Haggarty threw the javelin 127-3, a good mark, but she owns the state's best this spring at 139-0.
The Breakers' Tawnie Kerr swept the 100 and 200 meters, while Big Sky's Kristen Daugherty won both the long and triple jumps. (Missoulian, April 30, 2011)
