Meet: Jim Johnson Invitational
Date: 2011-04-13MISSOULA — There's good starts, there's great starts and then there's what Deer Lodge's Brandon Forson did at the Jim Johnson Invitational track meet at Dornblaser Field on Wednesday.
After claiming state titles in both the discus and shot put last year, Forson again established his dominance with a throw of 195 feet, 3 1/2 inches in the discus and 57-2 in the shot put.
His throw in the discus was 68 feet farther than the second place throw of 127-3 1/2 from Damon Ward of Florence.
On the track, Aaron Johnston of Darby won the 100 (11.42 seconds), 200 (23.44) and 400 (51.08). He also scored a victory in the long jump with a distance of 20-3/4.
Other double winners were Doug Raymer from Darby in the 1,600 (4:43.44) and the 3,200 (10:12.74) and Fairfield's Slade Allen in the 110 hurdles (16.27) and the 300 hurdles (42.28).
On the girls' side, Charlo took the top spot overall with 121 points led by double winner Aspen Runkel. She placed first in the 400 (63.64) and the 100 hurdles (17.04). The Vikings also won both the 400 relay (53.22) and the 1,600 relay (4:32.04).
Deer Lodge's Kadeshia Clark of won the 100 (13.34) and 200 (28.65).
Distance runner Alexys Bryant from Drummond won both the 1,600 (6:00.13) and the 3,200 (13:17.04) and Darby's Sarah Jakober claimed the top spot in the long jump (15-11) and the triple jump (33-2).
