Meet: Frenchtown Quadrangular
Date: 2011-04-12FRENCHTOWN — Hamilton's Kelsie Almond was the brightest performer at the annual Frenchtown Quadrangular track meet, picking up three wins in the non-scored meet held Tuesday.
Almond took the 100 and 200-meter dashes in 12.9 and 26.8 seconds - impressive early-season times. She also soared 16 feet, 4.5 inches to take the long jump.
Host Frenchtown had a double-winner in Brady Baughman, who swept the boys' hurdles races. Stevensville and Ronan-St. Ignatius also competed in the meet.
Ronan's Jordan Franklin had an impressive day, winning the 100 meters and clearing 6-4 to win the high jump on criteria. Stevensville's Josh Haynes also made 6-4, and added a win in the long jump with mark of 21-10.25.
Hamilton's Seth Ray added wins in the shot put and javelin.
Aside from Almond, girls' multiple winners were Ronan's Courtney Clairmont in the 800 and 1,600, and Hamilton's Meghan Kratofil in the discus and shot put.
Kratofil threw the shot 34-10.
Stevensville's Molly Brewer won the girls' high jump by clearing 5-2. (Missoulian, April 13, 2011)
