Meet: Butte-Big Sky Dual
Date: 2011-04-01BUTTE - The track and field teams from Missoula Big Sky and Butte split a dual Friday with the Butte girls earning a 90-53 victory and the Big Sky boys edging the Bulldogs 74-71.
The Butte girls received three individual victories apiece from Elsa Janney and Kabri Emerson.
Janney won the 100 with a time of 13.13 to edge Natalie Ziller by 0.03 seconds. Janney also posted wins in the 200 and 400.
Emerson picked up wins in the javelin (111-4), the discus (98-2) and shot put (34-0).
Highlights for the Eagles included wins in the 800 from Katie McKay, a victory in the 3,200 from Taylor Rather, and a win in the long jump by Natalie Schmitt.
The Big Sky boys got a pair of individual wins from Mike Duncan. He took the long jump with a leap of 20-4 and the 100 with a time of 11.58.
Brian Wheeler won the 400 for the Eagles, Vasiliy Lemeza took the triple jump, Darby Maier was tops in the discus and Zach Svingen was the winner of the shot put. (Missoulian newspaper, April 2, 2011)
